Usually LED tail lite assemblies have 10 or more LEDs in them . Properly set up each one should draw 20ma. so 10=200ma. or ,2amps Not enough current draw to flash at the right rate. An incandesent bulb draws about 2amps. You need a ballast resistor which will draw the required current to get the flasher unit to work at the normal rate of flash. These are available from most sources that sell the tail lite assemblies You will need one for each assembly.

or electronic flasher
sam
I have rear LED's in all three of mine with normal TS bulbs in front and they work just fine.
Just put in an electronic flasher and forget it !
RODWORKS out of lakeland fl Blade super guy makes an sells them get the flasher give him a call in all the mags

I have their LED tail lights on my '37.
Accidently left the "r" out of worx in the web address the first time around and added it later but still won't work when you click on it so I'm doing it right this time and it should work.

Ok Thanks Gentltmen, Slowpoke front are regular bulbs i thought that would be enough , I will get a Electronic Flasher
Wonder what the difference is? Two of mine, 46 and 53, are Ocean Pacific [sp?] and can't recall the 40's, but they are a complete sealed unit with the bezels and all.
Rodworx led tail lights for the 33- 36 Chevy ( united Pacific ) . Boght a pair at Knoxville last year . Best product straight out of the box I have seen in a long time . Totaly satisfied .
United Pacific is what mine are, not Ocean Pacific. Great product.
Blade, I was just in your area last week!! I should have brought some Loads with me for your LEDs. I drove past the Exit for APOPKA, and thought "why do I know that name??" I was in lakeland for work, then drove to see my g-pa who lives in DeBary. He just turned 90 april 7th, and moves around like he's 50.
Hey Cris-- easy fix is put in a load ballast resistor in series with the LED lamp assembly. Should be about 6 ohms and high wattage. MC
Needs to be in "parallel" not series, needs to be 15 watts 16 ohms. check with speedway.Just got thru doing this.

I have the United Pacific 1157 LED Bulbs, Electronic flasher sounds better if for some reason the LED light fails I could just drop in a regular 1157 bulb? Straycad I use to Live in Deltona up to 6 years ago which was next to Debary good to see you have a G-pa that still gets around ,he must be a early riser and always doing something
In that scenario, yes. The flasher is better. Any luck on that grill? I was cleaning up the headlight buckets last weekend.

For those wanting to convert to LEDs. They last forever. Check out this source. see the 12V automotive area. They also have some cool accent lighting stuff.

Still working on it when a get a chance been working some OT
No problem.. no rush.. obviously my project is long term. I start on 4 day work days again in about a month.. gives me more time to tinker, but the Summer is HOT. By then I will probably start on the doors/windows.
when i put LED lamps in, my cruise control wouldnt work till i added the resistors. same thing happens when a regular lamp burns out in the brake light circuit.the cruise has to feed thru the brake light fillament to ground.add the resistors and everything will work better.i know it sounds crazy.
sam
Without the resistors some aftermarket electronic cruise will cause the brake lights to burn dim too.(when brake not applied) dont ask me how i know
sam
I know when I was looking at the Rostra electronic cruise control setup they said LED tail lights require a relay to bypass the brake system. LED tail lights do not let the violet wire (cold side of brake switch) see ground through the brake lights, themselves. Since I have LED tail lights I figured I'd add the relay which I believe means I wouldn't have to install the resistors that Sam is talking about. To do project down the road.<
