timkins I pulled and checked the coil over shocks on my car this morning and as I suspected one of the shocks on the rear is leaking and does not appear to be working correctly. I went to the Speedway site to check and see what spring rate I needed and they do not have that chart for spring weight suggestions any longer. My car is an all steel 32 Ford full fendered 2 dr sedan. Mustang II front end and 8" Ford Rear end. The shock is 9 1/2 " closed, 13 1/2 " opened. It is approximately 12 1/2"-13" when installed with an 8" long spring on it. Does anyone have a suggestion for what coil overs would be recommended and spring weight for this car?

I just found that I have the same problem.  The right side rear coil/over shock is leaking.  I think it happened because I had the car set-up pretty low in the rear and the shocks would bottom out inside the shock if I hit a big bump.  I've since raised the rear, but, of course, the shock is still leaking.  I'm assuming I can replace just the shock and keep the spring and all the hardware.  Hope I'm right.  I like the way it rides.  Got mine through Pete & Jakes.  I'll have to give them a call.

I put ALDEN SHOCKS on the rear of  my "A" around 4 years ago and had no problems. Give them a call, they told me I needed a 200lb. spring and they were right on with that.
