Anyone going to the NSRA Nats this year? If anyone has reservations at the Crowne Plaza hotel which is right outside the gate, you better check your reservation as the hotel had part of its roof ripped off in a storm about two weeks ago.

We will be there on Tuesday --staying til sunday will be at the Super 8 as you turn down towards Registration----- Everyone have a safe trip.
Not this time as the brass was there !!! Don Staying at the Holiday Inn Express airport
Gary--suggest time and place--would like to meet some of the guys and see some old faces. Like to meet some of the gray beard cruise group
Like at the entrance in the main building
What entrance??? What time and day? Being as there are several entrances, how about meeting behind Wings Callahan's trailer, noon Saturday Louisville time?

Jeff, --- is that straight up on my "Sun Dial" Watch?
I'll have to remember to wind it the night B4.
Guess I'm ready 2 go.
Top in and on.
Hmmm. Seems to me that when ya got that little red roadster, I said something like "A set of really big rear tires, a new black top, a single front driving lamp and a pair of great big headlights and it'll look like it belongs to you". Gettin close. LOL I like whatcha done Don.
Have a great trip and say howdy to the guys.
By-the-way, a couple of ya may see some additional charges from the Red Roof Inn soon. Be sure to verify it against your bill to be sure they're valid. I discovered almost $500 charged against the credit card I used to hold the Greybeards rooms and I didn't even stay there unless they charge for hangin out in their parking lot. LOL
Just my opinion, the Red Roof Inn is not where I would stay. Its a rough area. There are a lot safer places to stay.
Gary. This is the Red Roof Inn in San Dimas, Calif. Besides, with that many Greybeards around and Buddy to back em up, nobody would want to mess with em.
I'll be there at noon on Sat. looking forward to it.
Oil changed, finally washed off all the road grime from LARS trip off !!! LOL Set the front end camber to 8 degrees it was at barel y 4 . And finally got around to fixing that rear end breather leak . Nothing like waiting till the last minute to do things !!! Alll washed and cleaned Now Ready to head out tomorrow morning !!!
Gary, Thanx for the advice, but it can't be ant worse the "The Beautiful Lemon Tree Hotel & Spa"
in Pomona I stayed @ for over 20 years for LARS
Greybeards got it under control.
Hey Don, There is a cemetery right across the street from your hotel about a 1/2 mile long, I bet them people don't bother you. I stayed at the Shilo while at the LA roadster show. It was supposed to be real nice and when we got ready to leave saturday morning we found out some one had been shot next door the night before. "Somehow" my son or some of his" friends" spend a little more time riding through certain hotels during nats weekend checking on my friends cars, Oh yeah he is a Louisvile cop with hotrod blood! Jus saying...... I got your back your hotel is on his list to check on a certain red roadster. See ya thursday, Joe
We will be there Fri & Sat and hoping for some good weather !!!!!
Checked the weather forecast and they're calling for 10% Thursday, 30% Friday, 30% Saturday and 50% rain Sunday in Louisville. Hopefully the weather guys are wrong as they usually are.
Joe, Thanx 4 the security check.
See ya Thursday.
Don
On the road again !!!
The only bad thing about the Red Roof Inn is you have to pay every hour. Its hard to get a good nights sleep.
Saw the Louisville weather an the good news is they are calling for temps in the low nineties with a chance of showers. The showers usually are in the evenings. It could be a lot worse as it was triple digits in KY a few weeks ago.
I was out working underneath my car this morning and put my ear to the ground, all I could hear was the sound of loud pipes heading to Louisville from all directions. Drive safe.
Gary
Gary, Great yakkin witcha this am, and thanx 4 the invite to "The Party"
Call ya when we get in.
Made it out of the Carolina"s now into another state and into Rain again !!!
Made here in Louiseville about 5 ish pulled into a car wash and met Bob K. Washed my car again and head up to Skyline Chili for some grub !
Did ya put the top up or tuff it out Jeffe?
See ya Thursday

The last pic is the giveaway of the orange roadster 32 Ford coupe. And my ugly mug in the pic is the last one on the right ! The person to the right of the gentle in the blue shirt or should I say next to Buddy G. is Bob K. ( short guy w/ white beard )
Hey guys at the meet and greet Somebody said there was a good Italian resturant to eat at
Great seeing the Streetrodding.com guys at the "meet and greet". Its always nice to be able to put a face to a name. I'm third from the left. The weather was far better then anticipated. Just under 10,000 cars were registered. The rain Friday morning was almost welcomed. Da34guy Don and his Okie crew arrived Thursday ( real good guys). We were fortunate to secure parking spots on a road adjacent to a few shade trees still left at the Fairgrounds. Thank God for the shade. Friday night we went to an unbelievable street rod party held by Robert and Stephanie of Louisville. What gracious hosts. I can't begin to describe the quality and quantity of the food and a great bunch of street rodders present. If I had to guess, there were probably at least 80-100 cars. Great door prizes and trophies were given out, Most Club Members present,Three Best of Show's, and a Long Distance Award, Don Da34guy won the Long Distance award by two miles. The party is an event held every year during the Nats and one I don't miss. Don took a bunch of photos which I'm sure he'll post when he gets back to Duncan. As far as I'm concerned the whole Nats experience was a blast. I encourage anyone contemplating a trip to next years Nats in Louisville, come on down. You won't be disappointed.
I am the 6 the in from right or left, guess thats the middle. Don and I had some grat conservation about old surfing days in So Cal in the 60's.. Guys he has a nice roadster, new top looks goo. All the guys in out little group are great, Lots of good conversation.. Gary that roof on your wagon is realy long. Would look good with a 9 foot Wardy surfboard on top. Trip home was good 3 1/2 hours.. No rain.. Saw dave Hughs and his nice Corvette.. I only wiped off the Black Pontiac rom the few showers 5 times in 3 days. A new record.. Jeff hope you got the top up on the roadster in time.. Thanks for posting the Gang Photo....
Len, my 9 year old Grandson agrees about the surf board. He's already said to me " Grampa we could put my surf board on top of your car". He's a beginning surfer who learned to surf on an 8'2" soft top Liquid Shredder. I plan on getting him a 6'4" NSP epoxy Fish for Christmas which should be great for the small waves we usually have in the Gulf. I don't want to add a permanent rack and am afraid that a drip rail rack will mess up the paint. I'm going to look into maybe using one of those soft racks.
It was great seeing and talking to the Streetrodding.com group. Lets do it again next year. Attached is a picture of my black Lab Molly the Dock Diving Champion we talked about.
Gary
Damn 29 robert looks like we missed a good time
Just got back from the Nat's.
It was great meeting all you guys on Saturday.
Hope everyone has a safe trip home.
Rolled my butt in now . Rained from Lexington all the way to Knoxville . Sprinkled on and off till Ashville then clear. Took the top down for a 150 miles , Then I didn't get the top up in time near Shelby,N.C. and it dumped bigtime !! Traffic slowed to 25 or less! Got off the road and under a under pass but it was to late ! Drenched but down the road about a hour and it clear up . So put the top down and dryed out ! it was time for a shower anyway !! LOL Had a great time with ya all ! Hope to see ya again next year !!!! Good to put faces with your name on this site !
thanks jeff for all the pict
I am the second one from the left in the group mugshot. It was good to see old friends and meet some new ones! I hope every one got home safe with no problems. See you guys........ Joe
I am the first one on the left next to Wkends..Had a great time at the show--especailly the meet and greet.. Met some new folks especially the youngun Don(Da3gGuy), Tazhog54, Mark Simon,Jchobbs. Great group of guys. Hope to see you guys again on down the road.
Show was great---spent way too much money, but was fun
Got home Saturday night, crashed and awoke to thunder and lightening I haven't seen or heard in years--needless to say no power for 9 hours--glad we came home Saturday
Thanks to all for the meet and greet

Her's a few pics from "The Party"
Looks like we missed a great party MAC. Sounds like a new goal for next year. Cheri's already makin plans for the 2013 LARS.
Thanks for the event coverage guys. Looks like ya had a blast ---- again!
29robert how about you coming to az goodguys in nov/
One of these days MAC. I've got a teaching gig every Saturday in Sept & Oct and every Saturday in Feb, Mar & Apr. Been doin it for the past 3 years and will probably continue for a while. Once in a while I can get somebody to stand in for me, so we'll see what I can do. Which weekend in Nov is it? Maybe I can talk some of our local guys into making the trip with me.
Da34guy.. Don enjoyed talking old So Cal times. early 60's was a good time in So Cal. Especialy the Seal Beach and Huntington Beach .. Never shot the pier but gave one good try with bad results. Bought a Dewey Webber after that.. Clsss of 62 was a good year.
Had a great time at the Nat's...
Saw stuff - Some nice cars and plenty of one's I've not seen before. A few cool things done and ideas to think about
Don't know what you guys think but my informal count looked like it's still around 75-80% pre 48
I also think overall the quality of all years of vehicles is pretty nice. As always some in progress but with a few exceptions of course not junkers
Bought Stuff - including the new Dakota Digital dash direct fit unit for 40 Ford. That thing looks awsome
Saw it at the new parts showcase and got one on order.
Broke stuff - on the trip home got 30 miles out and had issues with left side exhaust. Got it to an exit, and backed up onto a curb so I could get under it.
Fixed with tools and supplies I had brought with.
Then.... another 20 miles and at 70 mph had a tire seperation on the rt rear. But thankfully...
Tire stayed up on the inner cords with chunks and a flap still on. I thought for sure fender was toast but suprisingly not.
I managed to limp 10 mph 4+ miles down the shoulder and another mile+ down to find a WalMart open and with a tire shop.
Dealing with the attendant was a cross between frustration/comedy/and paitience.. Lots on my part...
We've all many times over been there with the "what kind a car is it" question...
So I said let me just show you what we're dealing with...
But He still actually wanted to look for a door sticker to see what size tire it took.
At that point... I actually did laugh out loud... tried but couldn't hold er' back....
Finally made it the rest of the 800 miles getting home at 5:30 this morning just in time to get to work by 8:00
I'm Already pre regestered for 2013..
And yes I heard 9800 + Looked like about 1500+ regestered at the event from the pre numbers at regestration
RH you need to come to next years "meet and greet".
Gary
Great stories, great pics, that party looked like a fantastic time, I always have had a soft spot for those early Nova's. Thanks for sharing!
Dave,Thanks for the pictures. B400 picture # 270
sam
I am third from the right, it was nice meeting all of you.
Sam, went to your place twice on saturday ! Nobody there ! Could of had them nice stainless rails or the in tank fuel pump on the tail gate !!! Or better yet the NICE 32 firewall !!!
Hate i missed you. Probably went inside to cooool off. I have always left my tailgate open and parts left out and trust people to pay the guys next to me. still need to sell them 32 cabriolet s.s. garnish moldings.thanks for coming by.
sam
Don, Glad you and Eddie had an uneventful trip home. I had a great time. Lets do this again next year.
Gman Nice picture in the NSRA program for the event.. PG 103 Cool..................Thanks on the Dock diver pic...
Had a ball on the way home cept for sittin on 40 for 30 minutes in
100 degrees, good thing was, we got off after the sit and found a GREAT BBQ
place sumwhere in Arkansas
I'll B there 4 sure Gary
So none of you won the giveaway car aparently!!! Too bad!
Nope, didn't win the giveaway car.
Tried like hell to help people win it though.
Told a lotta guys to give me 100 bucks and when they called my number I wouldn't jump up.
That didn't work out to well either.
The guy that won ti was 5 rows down from me ! 406 ????
Sorry I missed the meet & greet, wife didn't feel well so I was in the booth by myself. Met Jeff & Bob K. at the builders shindig on Wed night. Saw Buddy couple of times throughout the week end. Saw Ken at the hotel from hell. To bad Buddy didn't win the car, I offered my services to drive it home for him and then fly home free of charge. Nice seeing everyone and that picture was kinda scary, I think I would fit right in.
Jim
Ok I think were in trouble again - No Dixie, when he disapears it usually means he put his shoes on and a new set of wheels is close behind?
