Needing custom ideas for fuel tank swap
Hello! I have a 1957 Chevy Panel Truck, and it needs a new fuel tank. Problem is, they don't repro them.

I was going to go with a fuel cell in the far rear, but there are multiple crossmembers in that space. I have also looked at LMC Truck parts and Tanks Inc, and noone has anything that seems to work.

I am not needing any stock set up, I just need for fuel to get to my engine. Am I asking for too much? :D

  • Yep. like Jeff sez, TANKS from Yogi's. Same as a pick up. Get the fill neck on the right side. Open right door for access.

Over the years I have done many sedan and panel deliveries.
    Have fun.

  • Another option is Rock Valley Antique Auto Parts in Stillman Valley, IL. They will make custom stainless tanks. I’ve never used them but I have friends that have and are very happy with them. www.rockvalleyantiqueautoparts.com

  • Thanks guys for the quick replies! I have to look at the assembly manual to see if that member was added, or was a custom job, but yeah it blew my mind that there were so many back there!! I also appreciate the tip on Yogi's, I was not aware of them.

  • The 1st cross member I see in the picture looks like square tubing that someone added, remove it or move towards the rear to help support the new tank

  • If you can move the cross member which you can , you could try the tanks they use on the 62-66 and 67-72 Chevrolet trucks from the Truck Shop in Orange,Ca.
