Things Happen
Things Happen. Nos sure what was out of adjustment here. I thought there was a safety latch for situations like this.

  • You hate to see it but have to admit we have had this happen before too. Once in a 39 Ford we had for sale back in 2005. Had a buddy drive it to a show for us and it popped up going down the highway. Luckily nobody was hurt. On a positive note the nose of the hood had some cool pinstriping so we cut it off and now have some cool wall art. Another time we experienced it but from the other side. Sold a Choo choo El Camino and the buyer wanted a bed cover installed...we had it done and sent it out for transport. They elected to do their own transport and decided on open, against our recommendation. At some point around New York the transporter decided to load it on the upper deck...backwards! Well guess what happened to that brand new bed cover?

  • Guilty as charged...........
Just put a 283 in my '50 Chevy hardtop with a new '57 Chevy ice box white paint job..........set the hood on, 4 of my Slugs car buddies piled in for the maiden voyage = 90 feet later the hood flew up, messed up the paint and bent the hood corners....duuh ? It was 1957. My first engine conversion. On the up side, the high tech coat hanger throttle linkage worked super !

  • That sucks big time. If the paint is metallic ya get to paint the whole truck over again.
