December 02, 2012 12:14 PM By pepiThe best tool I have my welder, want to step it up a bit and take the Tag plunge. Tig will offer me the ability to weld different materials with a finer control of the weld that a Mig lacks somewhat. As I see it the Tig works pretty much like gas welding, however with much better control of the heat. So my question is about the Tig machine for the users what brand do you prefer, what to look for, general rule of thumb when buying the machine. Foot control verses finger, what are the consumables filler rod ... Read All ...

November 28, 2012 05:37 PM By shinea woman and her baby drowned here this week after sliding into a pond. there were guys there frantically trying to save them. you can not bust tempered glass with your fist ! it takes a tip or an edge to do it. a buck knife unopened will shatter a glass . a rock or anything sharp edged will work but you can beat on it until you break your fist . just felt the need to put this out there. you just never know . .

November 27, 2012 09:07 AM By mcmillanrodWhen we repainted my 41, 5 or so years ago we did a cobbwebbing effect down the side between the chrome strips. Really neat look and not something you see often. Well we are finally getting around to doing the interior and would like to do some panels to match on the doors and dash. Problem being it was done with unreduced lacquer and then buried in clear. The lacquer was hard to find then and we used up what we had. Has anyone ever tried using a differant type of paint to do this? Or does anyone have some ... Read All ...

November 25, 2012 10:50 PM By old tinI am putting 2002 Cadilac Eldorado power bucket seats in a streetrod. The passengers seat was straight forward to get all the power functions to work. The drivers side has a memory position interlock.I need to find out how to bypass this interlock to get the seat to move in all its functions, up/down, forward/back, recline and lumbar. Not necessarily interested in the heat function. The memory modual is attached to the underside of the seat portion and the switches are on the side of the seat. Need to talk wi ... Read All ...

November 25, 2012 09:32 PM By 1carguyA buddy of mine in the P-Town Pushrods just won the Hemi powered '71 Challenger Goodguys Giveaway car! Wow...he's so excited, can't hardly believe it! If you've seen this car up close you'd have to agree it's probably the nicest car they've done so far. Key # 14 fired it up! How cool is that! His name is Doug Cabral, a long time member of the Pushrods (host club to 4 GGs events in Pleasanton). Doug is a Viet Nam vet that is very active in organizing activities and promotions for our Veterans. He is the guy ... Read All ...

November 23, 2012 09:39 AM By marebbLooking for pros and cons to using the Caddy Seville rear brake calipers on my Coupe. I want to install an emer brake, currently do not have one. I have GM metric calipers on the rear with 9" Ford. Looks like the Caddy calipers with the intregal emer brake would be the way to go. Looking for advice from those of you out there who have this set up.

November 21, 2012 10:53 AM By 29robertDon't know if everybody is workin' too hard to get on line or if nobody's doin' nothin', but it's been pretty quiet on the site. Winter chased ya away? Whazzup? We've got a couple of events coming up if it doesn't rain. John Force has a big cruise-in at his shops on December 2nd that usually draws +/- 2,000 cars. Never been, but planning on goin this year. What else is goin on?

November 19, 2012 12:15 PM By Jake's 34Has anyone used thermal coatings on their exhaust headers? Considering using Jet-Hot coating since they show a location here in OKC. If someone has--- Questions I have are how effective are they ? To what degree do they hold the heat in? Normal exhaust headers can get 800 plus degrees, cast iron is less but steel headers really get hot. Gonna call them next week but like all they will tell you how wonderful it is. It very well may be, But--like to hear from someone that has used it or another thermal coatin ... Read All ...
