October 17, 2012 10:11 AM By harv33I currently have a small (7.5 ) Ford rear axle under my car. It has the 4 lug bolt pattern and complete with upper and lower control arms. I want to swap it for a rear axle with 5 lug pattern. I'm looking use a 8.8 rear axle (9" are hard to find). Current ratio is a 3.08.and the center section appears to be centered. (approx 59.5" face to face of brake drum.) Question is what years and models of Fords have the 8.8 rear axle? Thanks in advance.

October 11, 2012 01:07 PM By teal32I propose that we all use this thread to post our political views. It's the time of year that things are going to heat up. We all know this and will have our own thoughts as to what should happen in the upcoming election. It seems like every post ends up with a off-hand comment about the Pres. Maybe Big Al can make this a sticky post so it always appears at the top of the page, so everyone will see it and make comments here. I kind of like to see topics stay on the subject. Just my $0.02.

October 10, 2012 10:01 AM By YEZLooking at a winter project and thought about building a mild 383 stroker motor. I have a real good 350 2 bolt block ( 68-69 casting ) . I don't know if using a 2 bolt is a mistake. Any ideas ?

October 09, 2012 12:33 PM By reneg8dPlannin a salvage trip for Saturday. Got lots of truck parts on the list- Mirrors, stacks, Air ride seats, IH short shifter(cab over type)battery box, steering gear box. Maybe gauges, frame tool box, air tanks, and with any luck, a Cummins B series air compressor. Oh, and I get to pick out a sleeper to be delivered. Add to the "hope I find it list", A B series to SAE #2 adapter plate, and an SAE # 2 to Fuller Transmission clutch housing. (If I can find these 2, I'll also grab the clutch as well) L ... October 08, 2012 07:50 PM By marebbA buddy called me Friday all fired up about a 56 Ford pickup he found on Louisville Craigslist. Truck had been totally redone with all the right stuff. Belonged to a guy in the Air Force who was based in Alaska. He had a family health issue and needed to sell ASAP for only $2700.00. After several emails my friend could not get a phone number out of the guy and then the ad disappeared from Louisville CL only to turn up on Indianapolis CL. Funny thing was the guy sent my friend a "bucket" of pics. T ... Read All ...

October 06, 2012 09:54 PM By oldcarsDoes anyone have any experiance with Rickeys Timeless Rods in Lula Georgia? I think they have the molds that Downs used to use for the 32 Roadster bodys. I'm interested in building a Roadster with the top and roll up windows (fiberglass). When I saw the body put out by Downs at Goodguys in Columbus in 2010 it was'nt very good at the seams for the panel to store the top. You could have put a finger in the seam area. Thanks in advance.

October 03, 2012 09:33 PM By mcmillanrodThe country lost another WWII vet this morning. My dad, Alvin passed away unexpectedly early today at the age of 87. He proudly served in the US Navy in the south pacific during the war and when asked why, he would simply say it was something he had to do. He never felt the country owed him anything and often worked two or three jobs to make ends meet. We had numerous conversations in the last few months on what he wanted for a funeral. All he ever said was to keep it simple with military honors. So on thi ... Read All ...

October 01, 2012 07:18 PM By timkinsIs there a cruise control system that I can take off of a regular car and retrofit to my street rod. I put an Audiovox CCS 100 on the car awhile ago and it quit working and I am looking at options. Its a 32 Ford with a SBC 350 and TH350 trans if that matters.

October 01, 2012 10:07 AM By Willys33Searched but no joy. What do you use for a clear coat? Trying to balance price with quality, ease of spraying, ease of sanding/buffing and deep shine. Don't want much do I!
