May 22, 2013 07:23 PM in General DiscussionsGoing to get glass in the caddy soon. Probably doing a V-butt style in the front. would like to keep the factory chrome around the window. Someone suggested universal moldings with chrome built in the gasket. Not sure how much of a pain it is putting that stainless back on the gasket, but any ideas? BTW, what is a "reveal "molding?Last Updated 05/22/2013 08:54 PM

May 17, 2013 09:48 AM in General DiscussionsBought the wife a 1939 Chevy sedan. Was wondering if any body has experience with Chassis Engineering bolt on front and rear suspension setups. Do they center the wheels in the fenders? The stock rear axle placement has the wheel about and inch and a half too far forward. Is this corrected in the design of the rear leaf spring kit? Looking at the bolt on front since i'm not a welder. Like the idea of the height adjustment feature. Any and all comments are welcome and appreciated. Thanks.Last Updated 05/22/2013 02:38 PM

Well, about a year ago I took the chance (much to Jeff's dismay) in buying a truck load of hubcaps from a guy for $50. Well they have hung around the shop long enough to irritate Jeff so I have been listing them on Ebay. So far so good.....have made my money back plus a bit more. (makes Jeff smile broadly). But have come across this wheel cover with this symbol in the middle and I cannot identify it and Jeff has no clue. Wondering if you all would give me a hand and let me know what the heck this thing goe ... Read All ...

I traded for a set of bucket seat at the Tulsa swap meet and was told they were 69-72 Camaro seats. I ordered new foam for them and that's when I found out hey are NOT Camaro seats and likely not even Chevy seats. I've enclosed pictures of original foam and seat covers, along with the new Camaro foam. Surely, with all the knowledge on this site, someone will recognize these seats. Thanks!!

I guess we are in for a wet year .... at least for rodding weekends. Knoxville was a wet one and so was Nashville. Friday was good and Sunday afternoon was good but rain in between. Oh well .... just makes it easy to wash the cars. I met a guy there ( Nashville) last year with a yellow 32 Dearborn Deuce (Jeff Rodda). Says he knows some old farts that ride to LA in Hot Rods and call them selves "greybeards". Says he even rode with em last year and knows a guy named Dixie!! Seems he sold that yellow ... May 18, 2013 03:42 PM in General DiscussionsI've had a noise in my '33 this week that sounded like the power steering pump, it moans and groans when I turn the wheel and feels "jerky" through the turn. It's quiet when running straight and starts the noise and jerky feeling when you turn. I changed the pump this morning to one of the Street and Performance polished aluminum pumps (GM type II) and if anything it seems worse. I'm supposed to take it in our parade on Monday, so not sure where to turn next. Do I have a bad pump or could it b ... Read All ...Last Updated 05/20/2013 11:30 PM

Who says they aren't out there anymore? I picked up this '32 5 window body from a friend this morning to tow in our local parade for our car club. This body has been sitting in his field for 30 years. He has many old cars, most are in heated storage, but a few lying around like this '40 Merc coupe, that won the big Autorama here in 1958, called the Shadow at the time. We're running the '32 to show how many hot rods begin, with my '33 behind it to show how they end up. We get about 50,000 people out to o
