This 1968 Mustang California Special is one of those rare pieces that seems to have escaped the notice of collectors, but that's changing. For those of you not familiar with the California Special, it was a 1968-only Mustang coupe developed by Ford at the request of California dealers. Of course, it was sold all over the country, but its unique look that combines some Shelby-esque components with good parts bin engineering makes the California Special worthy of A-list status in the Mustang world. The California Special was based on a prototype Shelby coupe that was never built. However, the look was a hit, and all the fiberglass add-ons, particularly the rear clip that's definitely got a Shelby look , were part of the package. This particular CS comes from long-term ownership, presenting in an extremely rare and unusual color combination of Lime Gold over a green interior, and it looks fantastic after a full repaint just four years ago. All the correct California Special bits are still ... Read More...

If there's one thing that can be done to improve this already desirable 1968 Chevelle ragtop, that's add more power. As if the Hugger Orange paint wasn't enough, it now carries a thundering 502 cubic inch big block that flat-out stomps just about anything else you're likely to run into on the street. Even not knowing what lives under the hood, this is a formidable-looking ragtop. Custom Hugger Orange paint was whipped up to give it an aggressive, hi-po look that's totally Chevy in the 1960s. The shiny paint looks right on the A-body, and is complemented by a black sport stripe that sweeps across the nose and down along the quarters, paralleling the stainless trim. The work was done a few years ago, so it's no longer a trailer queen, but that's a good thing because you're definitely going to want to drive this one. It's kind of nice to see it without a bunch of fake SS badges, although the 427 emblems on the front fenders is a bit of an understatement, albeit the kind that strikes fear ... Read More...

As far as icons go, the Porsche Speedster is certainly one of the world's most recognizable cars. This remarkable roadster (it almost seems a shame to call it merely a "replica") is the closest thing you're going to find to motorized sneakers. With a seriously potent power-to-weight ratio and handling that borders on telepathic, you probably can't have more fun with four wheels. With curves like this, especially those wildly flared fenders, you don't need flashy paint. Instead, they wisely chose an elegant graphite gray metallic that shows off the Speedster's iconic shape. The fiberglass body with those big fenders is perhaps what a 356 Turbo might have looked like should such a thing have existed in the 1950s. It's aggressive, sleek, and carries itself with the pugnaciousness of a bulldog. Correct Speedster details abound, giving it a very authentic look that probably won't appeal to purists, but everyone else will definitely dig it. Check out the big headlights, the miniature bumpere ... Read More...

There's a lot to like about this 1928 Model A phaeton, from its fresh restoration to a few well-chosen upgrades that make it a pleasure to drive. If you're looking for your first hobby vehicle, there are not many better than an open Model A, and if you're a collector, then you already know the phaeton is among the most desirable of all the body styles. The 1928 Model A was a breath of fresh air following the Model T, and thanks to Edsel Ford's vision, it's stylish as well as practical, two traits that rarely meet in a single old car. Fortunately, with a vast support network, these are also wonderful cars to own and easy to get right during restoration. This phaeton looks fantastic in bright red with traditional black fenders, and with a sporty yellow pinstripe, it looks far more upscale than its price tag would suggest. Dual sidemounts certainly help, as well as restored brightwork (chrome instead of nickel for easy maintenance), and an accessory grille guard. Fit and finish are quite ... Read More...

Lately we've been getting a lot of mid-year Corvettes coming through our showrooms, but this 1964 roadster stands out as one the finest one we've ever had. No, it's not matching-numbers, but if quality matters more to you than abstract serial numbers, then this is your next Corvette. This car has the kind of quality that you see as you're walking up to it, and almost everyone says, "Wow, that's a nice car!" when they see it for the first time. Something about the depth of the paint, the alignment of the bodywork, and the overall presentation that gets all the details right makes it stand above the rest. And quite honestly, there's a lot of competition for your eyes in our showroom! I have to imagine that several hundred hours went into the prep work, getting the fiberglass substrate as smooth and blemish-free as possible. Every gap looks like it was drawn with a pencil, exactly the same width and laser-straight. The headlight doors fit flush and operate smoothly, the chrome bumpers hug ... Read More...

Is there some kind of support group for guys who love the Oldsmobile A-bodies too much? Because after you see this wonderful 1972 Cutlass Supreme, you'll probably agree that Olds got it right with this one. Sporty, elegant, and quick, it's the perfect combination of features for a guy who doesn't need 500 cubic inches and flashy stripes to have a good time in an old car. Throw in a trunk full of original docs and this one is our kind of keeper. Oldsmobile called the color "Saddle Bronze" but we see it all over the place today on cars ranging from Ford trucks to high-end Lexus models. It works extremely well on the chiseled Oldsmobile's sheetmetal, looking exactly right for 1972 but also fashionable in 2013. Cool, right? You're also going to be pleased to see how straight it is underneath, so you don't need to make any excuses for this Cutlass, because it's every bit as nice as it appears in the photos. No stripes, no modified hood, nothing that gets in the way of the original look that ... Read More...

You wouldn't know it by going to car shows today, but when they were new, not all the Chevelles were big block SS models. In fact, a vast majority were cars like this handsome 1966 Malibu convertible, complete with a small block V8 and PowerGlide. However, this one now boasts a handsome restoration along with a trunk full of original documentation including the factory buildsheet, warranty card, owners manual, and restoration receipts, making this one quite special indeed. If you have a clean A-body that you're about to pour a bunch of money into, most guys would choose to build a fake SS, throw in a crate motor, and do it the way everyone else does. But this one is different, and in a good way. It's still a Malibu wearing all its original badges and insignias, and doesn't even have a cowl-induction hood. However, the lovely Madeira Maroon paint is correct for this particular convertible and looks fantastic on top of the beautifully restored bodywork. Look closely and you'll spot a few ... Vehicles like this 1922 Ford Model T could probably be considered the first woody wagons. Often referred to as a "depot hack," these trucks were designed to ferry passengers and their luggage from train stations to hotels and resorts. And there weren't many better choices than the rugged, utterly reliable Model T, which wouldn't get you there in a hurry, but it would always reach its destination. Restored a few years ago, there isn't a lot to the depot hack body. There's a wood frame, a few basic bench seats, and an elegantly curved roof, but that's missing the real details that make it such a joy to own. The wood has a wonderful patina that only comes with age, and while it's been refinished, it's definitely old growth timber. The basic black Model T metal parts, including the distinctive radiator shell, hood, and gently rounded fenders, are all in good condition, showing the right amount of patina to work well with the wooden bodywork. A few brass details still remained, even in 1922 ... Read More...

With Mustangs being the true American muscle car these cars are just as much as an investment as a fun toy. When it comes to purchasing a late 60's Mustang you have 3 choices; the fastback, the coupe, and the convertible. While all have a great look and are very desirable, the convertible has proven to be one of the most sought after cars and usually bears a price that reflects that. We are happy to have the opportunity to bring this beautifully done 66 Mustang Convertible to you because not only is it one of the nicer restored cars out there but is being sold at an extremely reasonable price. Look elsewhere in the market and you will see that cars of this same quality are being priced at much higher dollars. The car has been fully restored and is 100% showroom quality. The fit and finish of all of the body panels is top notch and the car is coated in very nice White paint. This is combined with a White convertible cloth top that creates a great look. You usually see white pair ... Read More...

The Old Chicago fiberglass body is coated in a very sleek 1988 Lincoln Pearl that combines perfectly with the Burgundy Carson Top. These Carson tops are perfect for old street rods and there are only a few manufacturers that are regarded with the same high quality product. Very well done pinstriping graces the side of the car, fanning out in the rear quarter panels to create a very nice look. The chrome side louvers on the hood has a very nice finish as does all of the chrome on this classic. The nice front grill sits between to large circle headlights which all work properly. Other exterior electrical includes the inset front turn signals and teardrop rear LED lights with third brake light. The glass/windows are all in good condition and have a professionally installed dark tint. On all four corners you will find Body Codington wheels that have a great shine. 18” wheels are up front with 20” in rear...see more in full description! ... Read More...

The very nicely done 41 you see here took the looks of the car and combined it with the perfect customizations to make it really stand out in a crowd. It was very well built and has only built up 10,743 miles since completion. It is coated in a nice bright Green that has a great finish and always turns heads. It is just enough to grab peoples attention without being overbearing. With the car being shaved of all of its trim and door handles it really has a sleek look from front to rear. It looks awesome the way it is but would make a great canvas should the new owner want to add their choice of pinstriping, flames, scallops, etc. The perfect amount of chrome was left in place with the front grill and headlights. Both have a great shine and are in great condition. The electrical is all working properly and with the Ron Francis wiring set up you have no worries. All of the glass is in good shape with a dark tint that adds a lot to the exterior look. It has a 2 piece windshield i ... Read More...

1969 Camaro SS Clone for sale in Chicago, IL. This 1969 Camaro Super Sport Clone has just 2,010 miles on it since its rebuild. It features a monstrous 396 Chevy big block motor. The 1969 Camaro carried over the previous year\'s drive train and major mechanical components, but all-new sheet metal, except the hood and trunk lid, gave the car a substantially sportier look. The grille was redesigned with a heavy \"V\" cant and deeply inset headlights. New door skins, rear quarter panels, and rear valance panel also gave the car a much lower, wider, more aggressive look. This styling would serve for the 1969 model year only. Collectors often debate the merits of smooth, rounded lines of 1967 and 1968 model versus the heavily creased and sportier looks of the 1969.
